Clive Coates MW (Master of Wine) is one of the world's leading wine authorities. Coates' lifetime of distinguished activity in the field has been recognised by the French government, which awarded him the Chevalier de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole, and he's also been honoured with a "Rame d'Honneur" by Le Verre et L'Assiette, the Ruffino/Cyril Ray Memorial Prize for his writings on Italian wine, and the title of "Wine Writer of the Year" for 1998/1999 in the Champagne Lanson awards. more...
This wine week-end will be moderated by Clive Coates MW, and will feature the wines of the Domaine Bruno Clair in Marsannay, especially his Chambertin, Clos de Bèze, and Château Haut Bailly (cru classé, Graves) and Château Giscours (cru classe, Margaux). The proprietors will be present.
The week-end will commence on the Friday evening with a reception followed by a dinner featuring old wines of the Domaine Clair's Chambertin, Clos de Béze, the younger vintages being sampled at a tutored tasting on the Saturday morning. There will then be a light lunch. The afternoon is free.
The weekend recommences with a champagne recetion on the Saturday evening, followed by a dinner with the old wines of the Bordeaux estates. Again, the younger vintages will be sampled at a tutored tasting the next morning. The week-end closes after a light Sunday lunch.
The cost of the week-end is CHF 975, approximately 665 euros per person.
